Touted as “distinguished” and “the whole package”, baritone Dylan Glenn is making his mark on the classical singing scene.
From June 2024, Glenn has been a full-time member of the Badischer Staatsopernchor at the Badisches Staatstheater Karlsruhe, where he has been featured in solo roles in Pagliacci and Der Rosenkavalier.
Glenn's 2022-2023 season kicked off with performances as the Count in Mozart's Le nozze di Figaro with Florida State Opera and continues with performances of Heggie's A Question of Light with pianist Rachel Bennett, Bartender/Nosy Parent in Speed Dating Tonight with FSU Opera Outreach, and Don Vidal Hernando in Torroba's Luisa Fernanda. The 2021-2022 season saw Glenn's return to the role of Papageno in Die Zauberflöte, a complete performance of Schumann's Dichterliebe with pianist Rebecca Edmiston, and appearances as Dr. Rappaccini in Catán's La hija de Rappaccini. Glenn’s 2020-2021 season included mainstage performances as Charlie in Heggie's Three Decembers (Florida State Opera) and Gil in Hilliard’s The Filthy Habit (Florida State Opera), as well as a concert performance as Mozart’s Don Giovanni (Act I Quartet, Florida State Opera).
Glenn's professional operatic credits include Dancaïre in Carmen (Utah Lyric Opera), Will in The Divorce Box (Cleveland Opera Theater's {NOW}Fest), and Pinellino in Gianni Schicchi (Utah Opera). Concert appearances include solo work in Vaughan Williams’ Fantasia on Christmas Carols (Cleveland Philharmonic) and Handel’s Messiah (Witness Music). Favorite mainstage roles include Papageno in Die Zauberflöte (CIM Opera Theater), Figaro in Il barbiere di Siviglia (BYU Opera Theater), and Marcello in La bohème (BYU Opera Theater).
Glenn received both 1st Prize and the Prize for Best Performance of a Spanish Work in the XXVI Certamen Internacional de Jóvenes
Intérpretes ‘Pedro Bote’, was a joint winner of the international 2020 Lotte Lenya Competition, received 1st Prize in the 2022 National Student Auditions, was the recipient of both the Boris Goldovsky Prize in Opera and the Irving Bushman Memorial Prize from the Cleveland Institute of Music, and was named “Male Singer of the Year” in the Young Artists in Voice Competition.
Glenn holds degrees from the Cleveland Institute of Music ('20) and Florida State University ('23).
